Organization Background


Myanmar Catholic Community in Malaysia (MCCM) is a non-profit organization. It was founded in 1999, enlivened by the Christians inspiration in serving Myanmar Catholic Community, especially in terms of spiritual and social need under the guidance of Arch Diocesan of Kuala Lumpur. The sacramental needs are done in conjunction with the Cathedral of St. John while the social needs and to help other sub communities to be part of local church are done in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Office of Human Development (AODH).

VISION

A Community of Myanmar catholic growing in the catholic faith, sharing in solidarity and supporting each other irrespective of their ethnic groups here in Malaysia.

MISSION
  1. To help, share and love one other in regard to spiritual and social needs.
  2. To celebrate Eucharist in Burmese once a month with all sub communities in the aspect of solidarity and to have a proper instruction of catholic faith.
  3. To facilitate members in their sacraments of Baptism, Marriage, Confirmation and the anointing of the sick. This is to be done in conjunction with the cathedral of St. John.
  4. To facilitate the social needs of  members in order to integrate them to be part of the local church  and this is to be done in conjunction with the Archdiocesan Office of Human Development (AOHD)

OBJECTIVE
  1. To promote the Roman Catholic faith in conformity with the Diocesan policies and regulations, in particular within the Myanmar community in Malaysia.
  2. To keep all Myanmar catholic united under one shepherd of MCCM and to be a centre of network for both spiritual and social needs.
  3. The activities of the community shall be to achieve the objectives of the community and shall not be for the benefits of any one particular race or groups of members.
VIRTUE
FAITH is to empower us to set foot on the right path, knowing good from evil.
HOPE is to set goal in life for a better tomorrow and to give life to other as well.
CHARITY is to remember our benefactors who have helped us and therefore, we in turn should do the same to others.
